  1. Great news all their wages should be frozen and assets seized, funds should then be diverted to the nhs. These grass fairys do nothing for society apart from cause arguments.

  2. Sorry Liverpool fans,,no offence intended, genuinely,,but these bigwigs need to just give up the ghost and write the season off,,itll be time for next season before we can play games again,,besides,,going by this years form,, and the fact that City have to rebuild,,Liverpool will win it next season again anyway.

  3. It’s not under control I don’t know how they can say the 30/04 , it won’t happen for sure. We haven’t even reach the peak yet , I truely think no football will be played until September at the earliest. Uefa might get away with the Europa league and CL as there are a handful of games left which are manageable.

  4. Must cancel the current season.
Prolonging the current season, will give more injury worries for players. No enough rest. Stop treating players like a fighting bull.
EPL is only thinking about making money. Disgusting!

  5. They don't have to call it off. Get rid of all the shitty international breaks which combined are at least 2 and half months if not more in a season. Then we can restart the season finish it off and still finish next season.

  6. There's no point starting a new season in August with 38 fixtures and having an even bigger pandemic problem. Consider next season postponed indefinitely and we have until August next year to sort this one out. Honestly, talk of voiding one season with 9 fixtures left for health and safety so that we can start an even longer one come August when the pandemic might be even worse is daft. What, so we can get a few fixtures in to that and then shut it down and voiding that season too. Silly talk. Consider next season postponed indefinitely and concentrate on trying to get what we have in front of us over the line.

  7. April 30th at earliest? Who made this decision? Have they not listened to the experts cos experts reckon it will peak at end of April so erm all the best starting the league then.

  8. One option could be to look to vastly reduce the Premier League membership
by 4-8 teams in the 2020-21 season
so the Qatar World Cup hosting can still take place in the Western Winter 2022-23
and then reform the 18-20 team format back in 2022-23 onwards.

    Those who enjoy statistics –
and I'm sure one of many –
will (almost) be loving the speculation of what scenarios can be calculated
to the fairest AND workable solution
    for all factors involved.

    Here's just one:

The 1983-84 & 1987-88 NFL seasons both saw strike-shortened fixture lists.

The Washington Redskins won both Superbowls –

something that caused a stir in those troubled times –
but a Premier League season without all 380 games
    played to their climax
is not entirely an unprecedented event in the world of sport.

    Finishing this Premier League season

by some form of active conclusion: yes, absolutely,

for if that were not to happen
think what passive viewers may take the throw-away view:
"Do away with the bloody sport altogether if you ask me!"
which would certainly alarm many premium sponsors.

    So here's one solution:

    Premier League 2019-20:

19th & 20th placed teams in the Premier League

both automatically relegated to the Championship,

    1st & 2nd teams in Championship promoted to the Premier League;

18th placed team in the Premier
    League

travels to 3rd placed team in the Championship

    in one-off play-off for a 2020-21 Premier League place

17th placed team in the Premier
    League hosts one-off play-off

vs 4th placed team in the Championship

    in one-off play-off for a 2020-21 Premier League place

This would mean far fewer meaningless Premier League fixtures –
something very important with the title race over.

Yes, some Championship clubs would complain
at the 5th & 6th placed play-off slots being removed,
    but in return
cutting the play-off slots for Championship teams from 4 to just 2,

would instead mean that playing 1 postseasons game instead of 3

resulting in more rest time and transfer shopping time for the following season.

  9. I honestly believe that we will not see anymore football this season. The suspension and extension are just a means to temporarily appease fans eventually void the season. Also, I anticipate a player/coach becoming seriously ill during the next few weeks and this will ease the disappointment of cancelling football

  10. Boris is saying 12 weeks of this so the season will not restart until mid June. And it will, with the euros off, sky sports will want summer football
