I am Mexican and honestly I wanted Argentina to lose not so much Spain to win. Having said that, the attitude is totally understandable. Like my little son said about Timmy when I asked him if Timmy was good or bad, he said: "Timmy is actually good, but he does bad things". LOL. The same can be said about the Argentinians: they are actually good people but they do bad things. Argentina is an isolated country, people still have very raw emotions over there. Loyalty is everything for Argentinians. The team was not so much showing their backs to Spain, they were facing their people face to face, the people who supported them through out the tournament, spending a who knows how much amount of money they don't have (some dudes sold their cars). To me, they were trapped between their fans emotions and the FIFA protocol, they chose their fans and I respect that.

If the player is not already on a yellow card and they do a professional foul, give them a pink card, or whatever color you like, and 10 minutes off the field.
