Yeah, it was a red. I don't think it was intentional to kick him on the chest though. I think he was focused on flicking the ball towards the goal and ended up catching his opponent.

I’m sorry, but the ref only saw that as a bookable offense in real time? Either that’s a straight red, or a really ugly no fault accident, I don’t think there’s any argument for it to be made as just a yellow.
VAR has no other choice but to give that a red card with the high kick into the defender's chest… Don't understand why Enner Valencia isn't compaining clear red card…

This was a soft red card because Valencia was clearly trying to remove his foot from kicking the Venezuelan but momentum was too much. This was a yellow card if the copa America was played in South America and not soft USA

El emocionado ecuatoriano esta muy Espartaco, muy matador, muy boxeador, muy pugilista, esta haciendo las cosas extremadamente exagerado donde se olvidan del reglamento. Lo que hizo se llama caballeria, el es un caballo no un futbolista. La tarjeta roja muy bien ejecutada, sino los caballos van ha querer ganar con toda brusquedad, tiene que haber orden, esto es un deporte no es una guerra. El problema de Ecuador no aprenden de sus errores, ya invadieron una Embajada y estan actuando muy mal, muy pesimo muy deficiente.
Claramente es tarjeta roja primero por que el defensor ya había despejado el balón y Valencia llega tarde no toca la pelota el impacto fue por encima del pecho lo cual pudo haber terminado en una lesión grave para el jugador Venezolano no hay dudas roja directa.
