I said so many times Premier League is currently the number 1 and Bundesliga is the number 2 best leagues in football and I was expected for 4 teams from each of them to go to round of 16. I hate when people try to force so much a comparison between Ligue 1 and Bundesliga, while Bundesliga is far above Ligue 1. Same goes for the 3rd and 4th best leagues in football, La Liga and Serie A being way above Ligue 1 in football quality overall. Ligue 1 is part of the top 5 leagues from Europe, but is levels behind the other 4.
