that's ball to hand, not handball.
Commentator shows how much of a sellout he is reading the MLS script about that St.clair call. 100% wrong, obvious, clear as dat, insane. Should have gotten a red just for the intentional clothes line he did, much less the obvious denial of a goal scoring opportunity where the contact started outside the box, even if it didn't it would still have been a red and a pen then. What a clown of a ref and commentator here. No credibility.
Maimi is the only team in the league where they get screwed over by their own keeper not getting a red card.
The big question is what was St Clair complaining the referee about after his yellow? Did he think it wasn't a PK and at minimum a yellow?
Would have like to see Wiebe's take on the tackle from behind on Mueller in the box during the game and not just the double yellow. Maybe Fischer was just tired of the dirty play of San Diego
So we're not going to talk about what happened in Charlotte???
I wish there had been something controversial from the DCU/MON game because that game was wild. But the calls and VAR were all correct. A bit slow sometimes, but can't complain about the results.
WHAT? No one told you about the Portland Game?
2 Goals that started with no-call fouls. Not even playing the ball.
My favorite part about these videos is how the league employs a man who has never played soccer higher than the U7 level to interpret the rules of the game š¤”
Is anyone going to talk about the trash referee during the San Jose vs the Timbers?
Weibe, if you can't see any contact from the shoulder of the SD player, please get your eyes checked immediately. Not intentional, but there is clear contact.
Miami still gets the least amount of pens when messi is literally fouled constastley. inconsistent mls is trash and messi expose how bad the refs are. messi got body checked nothing wheres that red card? im sorry you wanna play tough dont cuz de paul will force you to give up on soccer.
Iāve seen some people complain about durkins simulation call not being added here. I must say, thereās not much for Wiebe to debate. This isnāt a reffing fails compilation, itās a controversial call series.
Itās such an obvious reffing blunder I donāt mind it being left out. Maybe you could say that the MLS is trying to hide the horrendous calls, but I think itās just as much that the call itself was just an obvious wrong decision. (Iām an stl fan)
I need the Minnesota DSC at INM 𢅠I saw some highlights when he was at his last team, and his face, passion and confidence looked so different.
St. Clair did not attempt to play the ball. Nowhere else on the pitch would a challenge that late be considered an attempt to play the ball. He's bringing his arm down to impede the progress of the attacker, not up to play the ball. I don't blame the ref. That's a hard call in real time when he's probably not that close as its a breakaway, but why is VAR not getting involved?
In what world is that a yellow card for SD?
I don't even think the Ocampo situation is clearly a foul, and Ocampo is very close to making a yellow card offense himself when he brings his elbow up toward the other player's face. San Diego needs to appeal that card. Dane is definitely not attempting to play the ball when that contact happens. He is clearly just reaching out to hold the player back no different than a defender pulling a player back or tugging a shirt to deny a goal scoring opportunity. The attempt on the ball before the foul occurs does not negate that. If a CB kicks at the ball, misses, and then intentionally pulls a player to the ground, does that qualify as playing the ball? No, it does not. Should have been a red card and a penalty. St. Clair has gotten away with some this season.
St. Clair did not play the ball. What are you talking about?
Classic to not even talk about the Durkin "dive". Typical for this channel I guess…
Whenever someone gets sent off for offensive language I always assume it's the exact same conversation Crash Davis and the ump have in Bull Durham when he gets tossed.
andrew wiebe "the keeper hesitates and then clearly fouls" that sounds like he didn't play the ball then. It is clear as day that its dogso.
I would love an explanation how extending St. Clair's left arm to take out the attacking player by his head/throat is playing the ball there, Wiebe. He STARTS OFF attempting to play the ball, but when the touch gets taken over his head, St. Clair just chops off the attacker's head with his arm. Any other player on the pitch strikes a player in the head/neck like St. Clair did and that's a Red for Endangering the Safety of an Opponent. He COULD have brought his hand straight down to avoid the foul, but instead swings his arm out wide and strikes the attacker in the head for the foul. That's gotta be a red every time.
Speaking as a Houston Dynamo fan, having witnessed the completely bogus red card (which Andrew agreed was bogus) Femi Awodesu received against Seattle last season, I support any and all abusive language directed at Victor Rivas. Thank you, Wayne Frederick.
Quick clarification: The yellow to St. Clair IS for DOGSO, but it is downgraded to a yellow for attempting to play the ball in the box
I agree with Andrew that the San Diego yellow was harsh! However, he thinks itās a very soft foul, while I would debate if itās a foul to begin with. Itās just a coming together for me. I understand the SD manās left leg was raised, but that was not where Ocampo claimed contact was. I think Ocampo shouldāve gotten a yellow for simulation!
Can I just say that the second yellow to Bombino was bs.
That is DOGSO all day everyday by Miamis clown of a keeper. Thats the 2nd red he was bailed out from this season by the refs. St Claire is the biggest clown and should have had 2 red cards this season.
The yellow card given to Durkin for āembellishmentā in the STL-ATX game was absolutely ridiculous, I wouldāve liked to see an explanation/opinion on why that was called the way it was.
mls and pro are an absolute joke. youāre telling me dallas gets those two pens but when a minnesota player football tackles rslās gozo in the box thereās no foul or even a var check?? then later on booth is running onto a ball in the box and gets taken out by a minnesota defender not even trying to play the ball and again nothing
You forgot to mention how the Dallas GK took 13 seconds on every goal kick which they made a rule to change that is never actually used
