Does The Bundesliga SCAM The Premier League?

Are Bundesliga stars “overhyped”… or is the Premier League overpaying? In this deep dive we test the “Bundesliga tax” myth: why some German-league ballers flop in England—and why others thrive. We break down Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Xavi Simons, Benjamin Šeško, plus success cases like Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, Dominik Szoboszlai, Hugo Ekitike, and Nick Woltemade.
We also unpack the Premier League’s spending addiction, the Bayern effect, 50+1 culture, style-of-play differences (open vs compact), and how system fit + adaptation matter more than price tags.
Stick around to the end for the verdict: does the Bundesliga scam the Premier League—or does the Premier League scam itself?

  1. Lmao… Simmons wasn't even considered thaaat high inside the bundesliga. Timo freakin werner wasn't ever able to target the goal 😂😂😂 period. Everyone in bundesliga knew that. He also can not be considered a hyped signing like Wirtz. And to Henry mention of "they can run with you here" sane did at least decent at mancity before going to munichand all this guy can do is literally run and shoot and if you are lucky he even does it with the ball on his foot. It somewhat worked tho😂

  2. Sesko and Simons were really not good last season at Leipzig, they were good the season before. Frimpong is no defender, how often did he play in a 4 person defense the last two seasons?
What about Woltemade? He performs better in the prem as he has done last season in Bundesliga. Or the other way around. As a Striker at Bayern, you nearly automatically get 10+ goals in a season, so mediocre Backups like Sandro Wagner have performed quite good there over the last years. Then you have Jackson who Chelsea had a asking price over 100 million in june/july. How does he perform in Bundesliga? A player who delivered good numbers at Chelsea just last season. So now I can say players from the prem don't deliver in Bundesliga? You can't generalize the adaption and quality of players. The fact Ekitike adapts better than Wirtz shouldn't surprise anyone who knows one or two things about football and watched them play

  3. In the words of Peter Brandt.

"Your goal should not be to buy players. Your goal is to buy wins."

Tha Bundesliga is not scamming the PL. Premier League teams see these Bundesliga stars as, well, stars, but not as players who can help their clubs win. They brush aside fit, and squad building, and only focus on the star factor. Hence some of the Bundesliga stars fail.

  4. The Premier League overvalues itself. All it really has going for it is money. Considering how much less money the Bundesliga and La Liga have, they are far better leagues from a footballing perspective.
The Bundesliga is just as physical when you look at fouls, but it is far more tactical. In the Bundesliga, teams get booed when they simply launch the ball from their own defense straight to the opposing goalkeeper. In the Premier League, you see this all the time and it is completely accepted. The same applies to La Liga, which has a similar number of runs but without this chaotic approach of just kicking the ball forward and hoping something happens.
The fact that foreign coaches dominate the Premier League says a lot. An English coach has never won the league. That alone says a great deal about English football.

  5. even in liverpool, gravenberh, ekitike, szobslai all are doing fine with dominic doing great, konate at first years was good,
firmpong is injured and we cant judge him, also its the reds fault, he shined in a back three system as a winger, firtz also dont fit the system

  6. IMO the Bundesliga is great to watch. I enjoy it much more than PL.
More goals, more skills more dribbles and more show .
And great atmosphere in the always fully packed stadiums.

  7. What you english folks do not understand and what will be transparent and break your heart in some decades is that your young english talents will not come through `cause the Premiere Leaque got the finacial potential to buy mature players. Players like LENNARD KARL from Bayern Munich would have been overviewed in your system and thaaat will harm your Nationalteam.

  8. See it like that. Over a season the last of the Premiere Leaque tearn earns far more than the first in the Bundesliga. Should the difference between all Leaques and the Premiere Leaque not be even far bigger. But no. Leverkusen beat Man City and Newcastle are eye to eye with Leverkusen. i repeat myself….do not compare the Bundesliga and the Premiere Leaque without talking about the 50 + 1 rule. You cannot buy passion and fan culture. Earn as much as you want, you will not have the mood like in german stadions because the fans are really into her clubs.

  9. You could make a starting eleven of current prem players who joined from the Bundesliga, that would probably win the league.
    Leno
Frimpong – Hincapie/ Konate – Van de Ven – Gvardiol
    Xhaka
    Szoboslai – Gravenberch
    Wirtz
    Haaland – Ekitike/ Mateta
Except for the GK all of them are elite players. The Midfield and Attack are especially stacked and represent the best the Premier league currently has to offer.
You could even put Szoboslai at RB to include the likes of Joelinton or Palhinha.
