De Bruyne is a top 5 greatest midfielders of all time, globally and in all of football. I genuinely believe only Iniesta is is slightly above him
The thing is with this debate, it depends on the formation you're playing. When the likes of fergies united and wengers arsenal were winning, they played a predominantly 4-4-2. Now, its all 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 which makes it easier to have an attacking midfielder. If you're having an attacking midfielder then yes, absolutely you'd have him in your team. He was an unbelievable player, literally could do anything

The reason Gerrards assists are so low is the muppets he gave a perfect pass to stuffed it up. So frustrating to watch the lack of quality in that Liverpool team. Also Gerrard was also playing as a defender in these games, at a level the others could not dream of. Stevie G still top, KDB second for sure, but so many choices.

Lampard was far better than Beckham, Beckham in Utd was a great player, once he moved he was so so in Real Madrid and he became a model who played football. Frank was probably the best No 8, but the amount of disrespect he gets from the former Utd players is insane. I guess they don't want to recognize him.
Always hard to compare because you rely a lot on ur teammates. It’s a lot easier to give assists when you have players who can score easy like Haaland.

cesc and Lampard are among the very best, but if you make an all time PL team, KDB is THE FIRST name you put on the sheet, all other players are just inferior to him. Alot of players are very good on themselves but KDB makes everyone a threat. If he doesn't make the goal himself he can assist or pre-assist or even a station before to make a goal. He can see the trajectory to the goal and he can give the pass to make it. He can dribbel with such ease on the ball; but fact is that he doesn't need to. His passes arrive with great accuracy. Even defensively he is quite strong.

People forget Premier League wasnt the best in 90s and early 00s. It was Serie A and La-Liga… When KDB was playing, premier league was the most competitive league in the world and over the last 5+ years been the best league as well with most of the best players and best managers… And KDB was the best player in the best league. You cant say that about other midfielders played in league… So KDB surely the best midfielder to play in Prem 💯
