  1. And the European spots get even weirder. The top two teams from the bottom side of the table compete against each other, with the winner facing the 3rd place team from the championship group for the last conference spot. Or 4th if someone from above wins the cup.

  2. The animation is wrong. they play the 3rd and 4th of second division.

First division: 1-12 safe 13-14 fight to stay 15-16 drop
Second division: 1-2 rise 3-4 fight to rise

it's quite normal and straightforward. If you placed low in a division. You risk dropping out. The best teams in lower division rise up.
I see this kind of format a lot in game competitions

  3. This. This is how you make your league watchable for home viewers and well supported, even when it may not be the biggest league compared to Europe. I love these strange formats

  4. You forgot that the first two from the relegation group will play a play-off and the winner will play with the team from the 3rd place from champions group for a spot of europa conference league.

  5. The greek league after the 14 teams play each other home/away the top 4 go to the championship group where they play between themselves and the one with the most points from both phases wins the league and the european slots get distributed then 5-8 get their points cut in half and they play between themselves again to decide who makes into conference league and then 9-14th same thing without the point division to see who gets relegated

  6. You forgot to tell that he is very corrupt, hasany stupid referee and VAR decisions and also many matches are fixed and also one of the few leagues where the betting companies are main sponsor and also have rights to the league name ,,Superliga" or ,,Superbet Liga 2"

  7. The more bizzare thing was that 2 seasons ago, the 7th and 8th place would play a single match to decide who would play a conference league playoff against the 3rd or 4th spor in the league… You heard me right…8th place could ve gotten a better season than 5th spot just by default… Welcome to Romanian football logic fellas๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

  8. A bunch of European leagues are now doing this. Too many matches, imho, which also means that yes, Champ, League One, and League Two have too many matches (and thusly clubs).

Bundesliga is where itโ€™s at: 34 matches, a winter break, and the Pokal is spread out over the whole season ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ˜Ž

  9. 10 teams who face each other 4 times each would be much better. Like Romania has 16 good teams. 10 teams is the sweet spot for at least 2/3 of European leagues.

  10. Sounds straightforward compared to Uruguay, where you have individual opening and closing season league tournaments, with a complimentary in-between tourney that is pretty much pointless except when it comes to tiebreakers to determine actual championship match.

  11. The split happens even in the Czech league. Albeit the scores stay the same. There is a champions group, a relegation group and the middle, that just play for a bit of prize money and a better spot in the league cup next year. The bottom two from relegation group play the top 2 from second league.
