Raphael Claus has been known to be bad. From the fixed red card allegations and the fact that they didn’t call one card on Bosnia until the 85th minute (a yellow on the manager in the 79th as well for obvious red card actions) stood out for me. It was bad. Claus never needs to be assigned to World Cup matches again.
Definitely a yellow. That said Bosnia no showed
FIFA doesn't have the integrity and INTELLIGENCE to admit their mistake and decide the next day to nullify the game suspension !!!
Thanks ESPN for the rundown of the game,,, Go USA !!! MJ Westmont IL God Focused Podcast
ITS RECKLESS FOUL, TEXTBOOK RED CARD, YOU GUYS DONT KNOW THE RULES OF FOOTBALL
Seattle is the best WC host city, wish more game were held there. Belgium is going to have a tough hill to climb to beat USA in that stadium and environment
Monday night SOCCER 😂
Regardless of if Balogun was in or out…. THEY WERE GOING TO LOSE
The Bosnian defender initiated the contact and Balogun just stood his ground. Absurd call…
Not a red card but the call that led to the free kick goal wasn't a pen. You win some, you lose some
Its cool because at that moment, I turned the world cup off and decided that was enough soccer for this year. This is why the sport is unwatchable, no accountability and bias can ruin an entire season/tournament. Cant wait to find out the whole tournament is sour because of rampant sports gambling.
That’s a clear red. Intent has nothing to do about. It’s unfortunate that he landed on top of the opponent’s ankle, but accidental or not, the severity of this moment 100% allows for a red card to be shown.
The red card is debatable. The issue that isn't was the ref allowing BH to pull shirts, wrap players up whenever they drove pass them. These should of all been yellows.
The ref Raphael Claus is Brazilian and who are their rivals Argentina. Where is the US coach from, Argentina. Go figure
FIFA absolutely fucked us! Give that ref a red card….
Do not put Pepi in there, jeezus. Thats a terrible adjustment
Keep calling out FIFA and VAR so tired of the inconsistency and favoritism.
Why not just give a yellow? Smh 😡
More free bird please
Balogun stomped on his ankle while the foot was on the ground and then threw his weight onto the player making it a dangerous foul. Messi clipped the back of the player's knee with his own which triggered the fall THEN he TAPPED the calve of the player with the tip of his foot and IMMEDIATELY NEXT FRAME lifts his foot and backs off from the player to prevent the player any harm. The actual foul was Messi kneeing the back of the player's knee. Everything after was Messi with a clear intent to not harm the player. Y'all have the audacity to then defend what Bruno did. Y'all needa learn the rules lmao. Even the opposing team and player didn't complain cuz NOTHING HAPPENED that deserved a card lol.
Stop using Messi and this Anti-Messi narratives!!
Was a good call to me,lack of experience in the player.
I've watched the USMNT from the 1994 team Alexi Lalas all the way through 2026, and this squad has the best overall strategy on the field."
Key to the Belgium game is the US team jersey , if they wear the ‘ where’s Waldo ‘ jersey the opposition can’t find em and the US downs those old timers from Brussels no problem
If they wear the alternate jersey the Belgium team that the combined skills of James T Kirk , Indiana Jones and Dora the Explorer have never previously been able to find at a World Cup will surface and they will give your boys an absolute battering !
It’s that simple
That asshat referee's red card deserved an uno reverse card from the wrongly penalized/suspended player. What an outrage.
That darn ref was acting like there was a splintered stick stuck up his rear-end.
I can't believe many of the comments. If that's not red card turn red card should not exist lern the rules before you open your mouths
Pep is garbage , how did he get into the team ??
They will be knocked out with no balogun …
That was an obvious red card
Ignorant pundits, intention does not matter, messi no red does not matter. All that matters is that this one is a straight red, no debate. It’s not because messi was forgiven red one time, that should be a rule for everyone. And to be clear, this one, was much more dangerous than messi do to the excessive force. But both are red.
The ref refused to give any card to Bosnia first half and most of the 2nd half until the coach. He didn't control the game and I doubt he will ref any further. FIFA is the most corrupt league on all earth. It's like the NFL, if you're a star you won't get penalized or get every call. Messi and Balo, almost same exact play, but Messi brings in money and ratings.
Ref 100% had money on the game
I understand what the host is saying but I don't agree. It's a red card or it's not. If it's not a red card for Messi, then it's not a red card for anybody. The ref was soft. He didn't call it during the course of play and should have not allowed the VAR to talk him into it. Watch FIFA now ban the USA player for (3) games. Just in case they get past Belgium.
