Deulofeu formalizes return to FC Barcelona

Gerard Deulofeu (player profile), a talented 23-year-old forward who spent the last four seasons with three different teams in England, Spain and Italy, formalized his return to FC Barcelona on Friday.
Before heading to the Club’s offices to sign the deal along with Club President Josep Maria Bartomeu, Deulofeu underwent a preseason physical at the team’s training center with the rest of Barça’s internationals.

Deulofeu, who spent ten seasons in the Barça youth academy, debuting with the first team on August 3rd, 2011, before being sent out on loan to Everton in 2013. He spent the following season at Sevilla and then returned to Everton again, after which he landed at AC Milan for the second half of the 2016/17 season. There, he started 16 games and scored four goals.

Two weeks ago, Barça exercised its buyback option, bringing the forward back to the Catalan capital.

Gerard Deulofeu ya ha firmado su contrato para formalizar su regreso al FC Barcelona. Lo ha hecho este mediodía, en las oficinas del Club, acompañado por el presidente Josep Maria Bartomeu. Una firma que se ha hecho después de que esta mañana haya pasado la revisión médica con el resto de internacionales que se han incorporado este viernes a la disciplina azulgrana al volver de las vacaciones.

Así, y después de tres temporadas de crecimiento, Gerard Deulofeu Lázaro (13/03/1994, Riudarenes, Girona) vuelve al FC Barcelona. El medio año en el Milan, donde jugaba cedido por el Everton desde el pasado enero, ha sido importante para su regreso, ya que ha tenido una participación destacada en los 17 partidos disputados -16 titularidades y 4 goles-.

Por eso, y por la experiencia adquirida en Europa en los últimos años, el Club optó por ejercer el derecho de recompra que tenía sobre un futbolista gerundense que, surgido de las categorías inferiores del Barça, ha pasado y destacado en todos los equipos de la casa.

Jugador veloz y polivalente para las bandas, se vistió de azulgrana por primera vez cuando tenía 9 años y fue creciendo hasta debutar con el Barça B la temporada 2011/12. Ese mismo curso, y con 17 años, disputó su primer partido oficial con el primer equipo, en un duelo de Liga en el Camp Nou contra el Mallorca.

    After what is going on right now with the current season I would definitely give him starter status, only problem is he needs to trust his talent and when he gets the chance to shoot, blast the motherfuckin' ball in the back of the net, keep your teamwork intact but quit passing to Leo and Luis all the time especially to the second one who is having such a shitty season right now competing with Benzema who's the worst of the worst. blast that motherfucker if you get the chance or attempt to score if you get the chance to do so.
