Denmark made a statement in their opening match of the 2024 European Qualifiers against Finland at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen. Denmark’s Rasmus Højlund had a breakout performance scoring in the 21st minute. It was the 20-year-old’s first international goal. Finland evened the score in the second half as Oliver Antman sent a beautiful ball to the far right post. Denmark responded in the 82nd minute with a header from Højlund, taking back the lead 2-1. He completed his hat trick scoring in extra time as Denmark defeated Finland 3-1.

Højlund's movement off the ball inside the box that resulted in him scoring his first goal was just exquisite! Note how he was able to deceive the Finnish number 2 completely and reach the ball ahead of him and the other defender!
