my league has parents who are so terrible that at the start of every game we have to read like 2 paragraphs out loud to the bleachers (where the parents are sitting) about NOT screaming at coaches, players, and refs,bc last year one of our goal keepers started crying because one of the parents was screaming that she was horrible and needed to be subbed out
only time my coach yelled at the ref (who was some middle age lard) was when some player did some diabolical slide tackle, both feet, into someone who didnt have the ball. the ref gave the player a yellow.
I used to play in a crappy leuge with horabile parents and the refs were no help. As long as u are dealing with things it will be fine and people will appreciate u keep it up
As a referee, my dad told me once, embrace the hate. Now I find these people funny because they sit there screaming at you over a Sunday league game while I ignore them and give them zero response. Sometimes you can prank them though 😉 told a lady I would take $1000 dollars for my uniform if she was willing to run up and down the court for a whole 8-7 shift (I was reffing basketball but I do soccer to) Most parents don't realize how long we actually spend reffing in a day cause they only have one or two games when im doing like 10-11 games a day. They think we can call every game like its the only one we doing that day… we get tired to…
