Neil Ashton was joined by Martin Samuel, Natalie Gedra and James Olley on the latest edition of the Sunday Supplement podcast.
The panel of journalists discussed a range of topics, including England crunch Nations League clash against Croatia at Wembley and a war at the PFA.
There was talk about the outgoing executive chairman Richard Scudamore’s parting gift from the 20 Premier League chairmen as well as the issue of gambling in football.
VAR was also on the agenda following the agreement in principle that it will be used in the Premier League next season.

10k returning 27? Bruh that is terrible odds for that type of bet
I love your vids
Gareth would go for roast chicken with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise on brown. Well I hope he would….got 2k on it.
Somebody teach that man how to put a watch on properly 🙄
The intro is so much better than before
someone should edit and re-issue this show with the bollocks spoken by the woman removed. One of the only programmes I looked forward to, ruined by this progressive crap.
im not sure why this little muppet is always holding up newspapers on the television. its 2018 mate
All these bloody adverts.
To avoid them
Fast forward to the last second of this video, let it end and then just replay it and the ads should be gone depending on the device you're using.
I personally don't have an issue with Scudamore's payoff.
As an executive, he has delivered a product that I rarely hear customers complain about and generated literally billions for his business.
And he's earnt £26million? Okay, I know that's a lot of money but for a Chief Executive, he's taken less than 1% of the profit. There aren't many CEOs that take that little.
And quibbling over "where the £5 million could have gone in football"… I'll tell you where, some leech like Mino Raiola – a man who earns £45million from one transfer and has done zilch for the business of football compared to Scudamore.
Lol CR7 MESSI and MODRIC have tax fraud but STURRIDGE is black.
Fluffy ball has a good point
Scudamore would come out of this smelling of roses if he donated 80% to charity or 100% to a football charity.
how can he have breached any rules if he did not place bet and would not profit from it.its not illegal for his cousin to bet on soccer
Allegations at the moment not been judged yet except by sky sports who have found him guilty by headline
Like hes gonna be arsed with a ban. He plays like once a year anyway
Sky have convicted sturridge already judging by this videos title, that is wrong on so many levels.
With all the money they have they still feel the need to gamble
Glen Hoddle was the best England Manager since Ramsey , and up to Southgate.
"weasels in a sack."…love it
so betting companys are fine to exploit people but when it happens to them they cry about it
Love the show, but please either move the mic further away from Martin Samuel's mouth, or ask him to stop sucking in his breath and smacking his lips. It's not an ASMR channel, and it sounds revolting.
14:21 the team is called Borussia Dortmund, not Borussia, there are more than 1 Borussia's, one of them is even challenging for the title right now with Dortmund and Munich.
She's lovely
21:00 – Martin Samuel hasn't a clue what he's talking about. "European leagues are tearing themselves apart to be as successful as the Premier League".. ?! In 1993, the Premier League tore apart the sole of English football, to make top clubs rich and say 'stuff you' to all lower league clubs and English football in general. Due to this, in my opinion – we have NO English top league (not sure of the stats, but how many english players play in the Premier? its under 25% isn't it?)
How ironic for a channel to debate the pros and cons of gambling when they endorse their own Betting service its like McDonald's promoting healthy eating lol
English Football Athorities are rife in Corruption
Mind Begs the Question – How you then sling mud at Man City and want to hold them accountable?
this blokes been mixing with fat cats for too long to understand the criminality of taking £5million out of the game
Dan, that Nat girl is pretty hot.
The Sturridge story doesn’t make any sense. He’s being prosecuted for what? It’s hear say and some one, maybe the bookies, are targeting sturridge to make an example out of him.
Martin Samuels talk some guff other leagues in Europe destroying their leagues they certainly have a better foundation for youngsters then the EPL
Is there something in the timing of Scudamore stepping down and Brexit happening?
Not many speak better about the game like Martin Samuel…
What is up with this new need to have a female journalist on the panel???
Martin Samuel really does make this program. Usually agree with 98.5% of everything he says.
Our Footballers are clearly underpaid. You can't blame Sturridge if his wages aren't enought to live on, he also has a family to provide for.
