  1. Not sure on the Gazdag second yellow claim. Neutral fan in this (I've been burned too often by Gazdag and Bedoya in the past to have any love lost for either one), but I think Wiebe exaggerates his analysis. In my view, Gazdag comes in with the side of his cleat, and has zero follow through. His studs contact Bedoya's knee, true, but without any downward force that I can see. The knee just slides in under Gazdag's foot. Foul, certainly. Yellow card? Not for me.

  2. But for real, like plenty of others have mentioned, NOTHING on Gozo the Clown’s kickout on Jake?

The fact that the crew didn’t even go to check it on VAR is beyond comprehension, but certainly lends credibility to the belief that there’s been a directive to minimize VAR reviews. That was a clear-cut Red.

  3. Philly should have had a red earlier in the Columbus game. Philly had a free kick, he kicked the ball forward, then Rossi took the ball and was on goal. Then the Philly guy fouled him because he said he hadn’t taken the free kick yet. Even though he played the ball forward. Ref let Philly take the free kick again. But I do agree that Gazdag 100% should have been sent off with at least a second yellow.

  4. First clip:
    "HOW LATE it is!"

Actually, it is not late at all. We are talking about milliseconds here. Given the fact that the average mind responds at 285ms, this challenge is not late at all. You can clearly see that the guy with the yellow shirt makes the movement of kicking the vall for a pass even BEFORE the tackle makes contact with the ball. So, no card is the correct decision.

  5. How are you not talking about what should have been a red card on gozo in the SKC game. He kicks out after the ball is away and has studs hits the boxes for violent conduct

  6. Columbus #8 was an obvious 2nd yellow-red card ejection, except the league likes Columbus enough to look the other way. Can't have your showcase teams looking bad.

  7. Tim Ford was absolutely useless for most of that match. Had no control and let things get way too chippy.

That said, no complaints with either yellow handed to Reid Baker-Whiting.

  8. I wonder if Dujic didn't see the contact with Gazdag's foot from where he was. It would be a second yellow had he saw it (assuming if he didn't see of course)

  9. I'd love to hear the explanation on why the referee of the New York Red bulls game let Minnesota United waste time over, and over, and over again. With the cherry on top blowing the final whistle after the Red Bulls clearly have a 3v1 on the Minnesota's net which mind you, the referee let a corner kick take upwards of a minute and after the Red Bulls scored in the 90th. They maybe played 3 minutes of real soccer in that stoppage time.
