  1. This debate reminds me of the fictional movie Amadeus. Messi is like Mozart while Cr7 is like Salieri. While Messi is natural genius, Salieri is natural talent. There are only few talents like Cr7 every 50-100 years while real Genius is so rare it can be counted in the fingers of your hand in the whole of history N it still will not be full, maybe hardly on one hand but in 10 fingers it's really hard.
MOZART like MESSI represents it, then Beethoven (Maradona), Bach (Pele), Cryuff N Di Stefano (Wagner). Just childish comparison don't hate if u don't agree. I admit Mozart isn't as skillfull in some areas but he is the poster boy for a reason N a prodigy. His music is simple and resonate with everyone during his day. Having said that Salieri can be a genius for many of his fans. Just don't be delusional to think they on the same page. Even in genius there are levels. Issac Newton, Einstein, Da Vinci aren't the same as Picasso who is the richest ironically due to time, Edwin Hubble or Oppenheimer etc imo. Do I have 1% of their knowledge nope but as humans we all have the capacity to judge. That's y thr r judges in courts N every competitive field. The saddest thing is Mozart dying young not even reaching his full potential, glad it hasn't happened to Messi. N I hope not.

  2. Unpopular opinion, Portugal still would have tied the game even with Ronaldo on the bench.

Overall team performance was lacking against an actually very resilient Congo side that took a very improbable route to even qualify for the World Cup.

Like with Spain I think there’s enough quality on these teams to still make it far in the tournament without having to rely on just one player

  3. It’s true about the age thing, there’s a big difference once you hit 40…in 41 now and feel like I’ve aged 4 years in the last 18 months

  4. Esta amiga tá mesmo a comparar o Ruiz com algum.medio do.nosso campo? Já viste a capacidade física do Ruiz sua amiga? Precisamos de um.medio com mais capacidade física e defensiva

  5. Fun fact, when Ronaldo was the same age as Messi is today, he was made to sit on the bench in a bib for losing his country games as a striker against teams like Korea republic… meanwhile Messi scoring hatricks and becoming joint top World Cup goal scorer of all time😂 U know that meme of Homer Simpson slowly disappearing in a bush? Ye that’s the debate. No disrespect to Ronaldo, but there’s a level between them, nobody is close to Messi nothing to be ashamed of.

  6. Yall are funny, if Messi dealt w the injuries Ronaldo dealt w in 2014-2015 N 2016 he would’ve retired awhile ago N wouldn’t even get a World Cup. Ronaldo had to change his position N style of play because he couldn’t dribble like that anymore cause of those injuries, on the other hand Messi can still perform well because he didn’t have to deal w any of that.

  7. Last World Cup di Maria carried Argentina along with EMI Martinez not messi kindly get your facts right.

And now name one player who has outperformed Ronaldo in any of the tournaments from Portugal.

Bruno and Bernardo great for clubs have always failed to deliver for Portugal .

Nuno and vitiniha back to back UCl winners flopped hard in that game .

Neves after scoring the goal disappeared that even the commentators called out that .

Back pass after back pass ,right to left then back to right ,many misplaced passes in the midfield , if it was any other team it would have been 5-6 goals for them on how many time Congo ran a counter attack from those misplaced passes .

Yet they will blame Ronaldo because it has been the media’s agenda since the last decade .

  8. Everyone knows this except himself and Ronaldos fanbois. He is not as good anymore, age caught up even to him. He could be a great player to utilize from the bench, a strong wildcard. But his ego that he still thinks he is at 2008-2020 level has long left the dock. He is not, and actually he is holding Portugal back right now.

He could be a leader of the bench, he plays because of his name and history now.

Respect him for what he has accomplished and the longevity, but his time has come. And honestly even if he scores a goal or two, he is just not even remotely close to the explosive force he once was despite having great physics.

I honestly think he should say goodbye to the portugese shirt.

The last chapters is being written now, its a farewell and you can see it, even from him.

  9. Portugal sucked! You can’t blame a striker for that. It’s frustrating to see that no one from Portugal can make a play. I can’t believe that no one can take a one on one challenge to open up the defense.

  10. I get it Ronaldo ain’t what he used to be but stop acting as if the Portugal team played well. Even without him they would have never scored goals. Their offensive ability was terrible and that’s not Ronaldo’s fault.

  11. i expected both of them to start on bench and be subbed in at like min 65-70 to get the most of them when rest of the field is tired, seems like argentina made the right decision, while portugal not so much

  12. Messi is a playmaker. He creates opportunities and feeds the attack with his passes. Hence he tends to have more of an impact on games. Unlike ronaldo who relies on service to score goals

  13. Another CR7 hater this thing forgot last world cup Argentina lost first game how wonder what he spoked about Messi on that time this media and some retired players are sick always desperate making campaign against CR7 bunch of losers sheep 🐑

  14. I watched the game, Ronaldo was like 15-20 yards offside most of the match because he couldn't get back 🫤🫤🫤🫤
It's like Portugal is playing Ronaldo ball, he has to play and he has to take ALL the ficking shots???
Hopefully Portugal doesn't get out of the group stage and reality hits them between the eyes

  15. Problem is ronaldo so desperate to win the wc and thats a issue his so desperate he doesnt see the bigger picture, he shouldnt be playing next game. Bring him on yes. But its like the players are scared to shoot them selfs. It will cost them

  16. Ronaldo relies on his physique athleticism, speed, strengh etc. Messi has the perfect touch, speed and vision. Messi does not need to be the fastest, he just need to read the game few steps faster than the other team which is why he doesn't need to be physically better
