  1. Nice that the game was played in neutral USA. That way we were not subjected to vile homophobic chants from a home Mexican crowd if played on their soil.

  2. I got to give it to Reyna Reyes from Mexico for stepping in trying to stop Australia on their 1st goal.
Where was Mexico Center Mid & Center Back ??

  3. Until this point I thought Mary Fowler was on another level, but Cooney-Cross is just pure talent. Mexico knew who the Aussie playmakers were and paid attention to them, but Cooney Cross simply made the midfield her house.
The one who in my view, should not be in the team is Van Egmond. The level of inaccuracy simply is not acceptable for a national team player, and this is not just about this game against Mexico

  4. Football Australia, I hate the fact that you give away the name of our national side to the highest bidder. These amazing athletes are representing Australia, not a damn bank. They are the AUSTRALIAN MATILDAS.

  5. Great result but I am really sick of seeing our national women's team being referred to as the Commbank Matildas. They represent Australia and should be named as such on every occasion. The bank gets enough exposure in other ways. The same goes for our other national teams. I used to hate how the rugby lads were once called the Qantas Wallabies, as if they represented an airline not the nation.

  6. These are the highlights?
So Australia only had 3 shots on goal and Mexico had none?
The rest of the game was passing and meaningless dribble?

Or is it just the Football Australia media team are useless and lazy?
