  1. He wasn’t ready for the responsibilities of college life and football. He showed several signs of immaturity 1) shooting a tic toc video trying to address fans while driving 95 mph which could be clearly seen in the video 2) showing up late to team meetings and workouts 3) not doing homework (got reported back to CP) 4) despite Travis. Trying to take him under his wing and help him get better, he started to sulk when he wasn’t getting playing. 5) didn’t want to get in WR room to do the extra film study he needed (remember he came in late).

He had no excuse! There were several other freshman who were on a mission from day one. Look at Omarion for example. He wasn’t a highly rated recruit and started out 4th on the WR depth chart but when he got his shot he excelled. He didn’t go away crying to his mommy when CP called him out for his subpar play in practice. He got with Travis and stayed in his hip pocket , learning all he could as his performance got the notice of the team especially the coaches…now it looks like he could be the number two receiver opposite TH in the starting rotation opening day!

CM could have done the same…but he didn’t and now look at high…he blew an opportunity to learn from the best who ever played at his position. Learning not just be a superior DB but a complete MAN with a plan to one day lift up his mother and retire her from having to work so hard to support the family!

CP came into the league with a PLAN…I remember the initial press conference when he got drafted…he grabbed the bowl of coupons that was near his mother and there it up in the air and said “Momma you ain’t got to never clip another coupon in your life” then after he signed his contract with the Atlanta Falcons he immediately told his mother “today you retired from working for somebody else” and that was 1989!

He knows what it’s like to be CM because he was him along time ago. But his mother’s hard working example inspired him to listen to coaches, to practice harder than anyone else , while be just as diligent in the classroom. He made the sacrifices of not drinking, cursing or fooling around with women. He stayed focused and on his mission because it was all to reward his Mother.

I am disappointed in CM because he could still be on tract to do the same for his mom.But now he’s leaving. Sure he’s talented and will probably get a good offer where he can showcase his talent which will make him a good player. CP would have helped him achieve that but more importantly he would have helped CM become a GOOD MAN.

Realistically, how many Top 5 coaches are going to give him their heartfelt love and commitment? Most will use him while they can then move on to the next young Black man on their plantation!
