  1. It’s always guys Matt’s age with kids saying “Kids are soft now and you can’t yell at them”. Well whose fault is that? You all are the ones raising them. They’re soft because you made them that way. You don’t come fresh off the vine with the work ethic of a grown man. It’s instilled into you, or not.

  2. You are correct JB… That is the dumbest shyyt ever. If my kids show up to practice without the proper gear they run and do up downs. We tackle proper, and no gay shit on my squad. I had to chastise some parents because their kid showed up late sat in a fuckin chair and his parents put his cleats on. I looked at the coaches and said he can't put his shoes on??? Broadway and El Segundo coaching… Athens Park home of Darien Hagan type shyyt… We win the little championships that don't mean shit to me but it's good for the kids and their memories. One year we won the coaches asked why are you not taking pictures and acting like it's the real Superbowl… 😂 I said the kids won I just showed them.. now they understand what hard work gets you. I've worked hard to see them celebrate. They all passed grade checks, 27 out of 28 kids had perfect attendance. Youth football should give basic knowledge of the game so a highschool coach that's worth anything will recognize this kid has been coached and they have something to work with.

  3. Coach JB, one year when I went through two-a-days, our coach would not give us water during practices and we had no heat alerts. If it was 105 degrees, we were in full pads. We were prohited from removing our helmets till conditioning was completed and practice was over.

  4. Great show! In high school, there are requirements in order to get hired, but in youth football, you will find anyone attempting to coach with literally no qualifications. Kind of like the WNBA. For this reason, you find obtuse drills like the one depticted in the thumbnail. Matt was 100% right that it is usally a dad coaching and living vicariously through his son playing football.

  5. I coach and even tho I don’t have the time I offered to help out with a local little league and was told and I quote

“We appreciate you offering, but we’re hoping to get another black coach as we have an all black team and these kids need more black role models”.

I was speechless because I’ve played, coached, and watched for 25+ years

Imagine if that roles were reversed.

  6. I can attest to everything yall saying.. we had to run 4 x 400 in certain times at the beginning of the year and man their was alot of carniage.l!!! Every positon MFers were falling out and they had the ambulances x 2 there for support. Then after it all we had to get up in front of the team to explain why we didnt pass the test! Back in the 90s man! Great conversation fellas
