We would have great soccer players in Ireland if every individuals potential was actualised. Unfortunately it’s a Team game geared and directed towards winning with only the very best players . Door shut for the average player to succeed or even be picked on a team. Therefore lost to the sport. The ideal of participation and enjoyement is more often in local amateur teams mostly supported by fund raising and the good will of unpaid volunteers.
