In this episode, Andrew Wiebe, David Gass, Bobby Warshaw and Matt Doyle celebrate the opening weekend of the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs weekend. It was spell-binding, mind-boggling and absolutely stupid in the best possible way. Goals, controversial moments, extra time (times three) and home teams (sans Minnesota) handling business.
The guys dig into Adrian Heath’s lineup decisions, the Union’s historic win, the Red Bulls’ future, Portland’s head-scratching season, Wayne Rooney’s final MLS game, Dallas’ kids almost getting it done and Michael Parkhurst’s nasty injury. Plus, four full Conference Semifinal previews, including a mouth-watering El Trafico showdown.
Also in this episode … NorCal soccer expert Evan Ream joins the show to talk about the newest MLS expansion team: Sacramento Republic. Ream explains why the bid finally came good, what changed, what the supporters are like, what kind of club the Republic will be in 2022 and who will be Sacramento’s natural rival.

Are you excited for Sacramento's addition to MLS?
Seremos el papa de el futbol en california. REPUBLIC FC!!!
Llegara papa….La glx, La, y sJ.
Bobby is a huge introvert that I can relate with just from watching his body language. I'm not sure why he's on this show. He has so much more to contribute, just not in this medium.
That's true, altidore is the one carrying toronto
But zlatan is better than LAFC
Hey yeaaa, LAfC is better than Atlanta this season period
I love how everyone thinks that Altidore is the only way that TFC has a chance. As a loyal supporter for TFC for so many yrs, Altidore has been playing way too slow this yr, and i truly think that without him TFC has a better chance. More hunger in younger players trying to proof themsleves. 😁😁😁 watch everyone get on the TFC bandwagon after NYC win. 🤣😂
Wiebe, tell Doyle Pavement was formed in Stockton, not Vacaville. Don't know if they stayed there.
Heard Stephen Malkmus on a podcast recently and it seemed like he now lives in LA, don't know about the rest of the Pavement members.
Yes I've noticed a few episodes went over the 60-minute mark and that is a good decision, there is a lot of soccer to talk about this year 60 minutes just doesn't give it enough Justice good job as always boys
Given MLS is now up to 26 teams for next year, is it time to think realignment from the two conferences? Even with keeping two conferences, adding 2 eastern teams next year is going to probably result in some switch from East to West.
Evan ream is not educated and shouldn’t be talking about the topic of Sacramento to MLS
Did Bobby even watch Atlanta United this year? Pity has been hit or miss all year and had a horrible start. He has a ton of turnovers and often fails to recover on defense. Pity was brought on to replace Almiron and he hasn't even got close to that level. Atlanta has often played better without Pity on that field. I must have missed the rule that requires you to start a player that you paid a lot of money for regardless of his on the field performances. The dude obviously has no idea what he is talking about.

"That's so metro destroyed same old union"
The show starts at 56:25
Never thought I would hear a Shawn Bradley reference on here but, as a Dallas guy, I love it. Also appreciate the kind words about our FCD boys. Looking forward to next season.
I was actually happy Zlatan didn't show up for once. Because I want the team to prove they can manage without relying on his scoring, it's only beneficial to be able to win with and without your main man both literally and figuratively. But it was an atrochious display from Galaxy overall. A performance unworthy of being in a playoff.
If he said lafc better than Atlanta boy 😂😂😂 just watch how soccer is played in the south lil boy 🙌👏🔴⚫️🔴⚫️🔴
Like si te gustaría ver un equipo de Hawaii en la MLS :3
I wish there were teams 40 teams in the MLS (that each state except Alaska and Hawaii had their own team)
That the east and the west
are separated, that they all play against all in the two, and that in the first 2 of the general table of east and west they play yo see who will win the cup 🙂
But do you know anything?
It would be curious to see an Alaska and Hawaii play the MLS
21:20 well tyler adams didnt/doesnt really start for leipzig. he’s behind kampl, lainer, demme, and competing with ilsanker and haidara as the 4 th choice. he only appeared 10 times for rb leipzig since january and it’s october now. basic math. generational talent? ffs american joey barton
Pittsburgh should be a MLS team, this is bs!
GGSR!!! It's about time Sacramento joins the MLS, we are California's team
Nailed that opening, boys! Haha
I think rsl can win. I mean we beat them 3-0. But it's in Seattle. So I think It'll go to penalties.
I can see it in 5 years, 2 tiers of mls divisions coming soon. Keep same mls participation rewards both tiers, (for owners sake) and there should be slight prize moneys incentives for cup wins and promotion. Lets get to 40 mls teams. 11 to go. Looks like california is the london of america,so many teams.
MLS doesn't need another California team…
