Damn this didn't age well!
Jinxed it
Maybe start calling out the MLS for being so mentally weak and embarrassing? Yeah that would be good….not up to watching a JV league…pathetic. The lack of mental toughness is now legendary

The gap between MLS and Liga MX is closing. If some reports are to be believed, MLS teams on average already spends more on wages than their Mexican rivals. If you look at the outgoing transfer fees MLS is commanding, they already have more sought-after talent. MLS needs to have a league structure that makes it easier to have a more robust internal transfer market. Unfortunately, ownership and the single entity structure of the league are fighting that progress.
MLS has been competitive with Liga MX for years excluding of the giants of LMX (who are clearly a level above), MLS just don't get to play the middle and lower tier teams often because they only meet in CCL.
According to transfermarkt, if you take out the top four MLS and Liga MX the average team value for Liga MX is 39 million compared to 34 million for MLS. The difference is negligible. Right now we aren't seeing some of MLS's showing what they can do when it isn't a stacked Monterrey, Tigres or America roster. Cruz Azul is still really good- you could argue they are the favorites. I will take the field over them and think MLS is more likely than not to win the first CCL title.
People say that Liga MX is MLS's biggest competitor. Actually, MLS is MLS's biggest competitor. They could win CCL most years as soon as they decided they truly wanted it. MLS has world class training grounds, stadiums, America is the destination country for the wealthy individuals (high level soccer players), and they have the seventh highest revenue of all soccer leagues.
With MLS's upcoming TV contract and Leagues Cup contract we are looking at an extra 300 million in revenue. That's 10 million per team. If that goes to wages MLS likely becomes the 6th best league in the world and the best league in the Americas. I can back this up with numbers.
I've learned to never accept an MLS team will win CCL unless both teams in the final are from MLS
Sounders legend, Ike Wolfram.
As a redbull fan I loved this ๐คฃ
did the liga mx teams field full-strength (or close to full-strength) lineups?
The irony is the MLS could finally win the CCL but there is no longer a World Club Cup for a few years ๐
Real question is where did Wiebe get his hat from?
Not gonna get excited until i actually see the final is between two mls teams.
The fact that two Liga BBVA MX teams lost 3-0 recently is a great sign. All the MLS teams have to do is secure a win or draw next week.
BIG TIME SCORER – ATL UNITED – MARTENEZ!!
Yea, it's pretty exciting at this particular moment. So we'll see what happens in the next leg but right now, I feel very good about MLS's chances to ultimately win this tournament and move on to the club world cup.
And to the comments on Magno. I don't believe they use him right. Sure he's Brazilian but the little i have watched him i haven't been impressed as i expected i would be being he is Brazilian. I haven't seen any great footwork from him nore any blazing speed that most Brazilian greats are known for. that doesn't mean he can't be great but right now i'm not blown away. My point is they should play him different. He should be played off the ball and should be cutting in towards the goal for crosses. And should also be set up for headers. I say this because if you can't beat someone off the ball (and their are equal or better options on the team) and you have off the ball qualities that are an asset you should be off the ball. The man with the ball has all eyes on him and if that man can't penitrate he is a detriment to the team if he is always pressed to. MAGNO SHOULD BE OFF THE BALL WERE ONLY A MAN OR 2 ARE WATCHING HIM AND HE CAN BEAT THEM FOR CROSSESS NEAR THE GOAL UNTIL HE GETS BETTER ON THE BALL!! I'm not saying he won't get better but im saying that he should get the ball near the goal less but still enough to get better because if he scores enough off the ball and continues to get the occasional touches to ettmepting in beating teams to the goal he will eventually become adiquet due to his confidence!!!
Jesse. Berhalter doesn't belong on a top five list.
For the long stretch were Chicareto was injured the L.A.Galaxy sputtered at times but had several games were they scored 3 or 4 goals and everyone was scoring. he came back and that stopped. When he's on the pitch they seam to look to him to much and he goes from a potentially strong foundation to a crutch. When he scores as he did last year before his injury they are a good team but not great and all it would take is one off game and they are out the playoffs. They need to mesh with Chichereto because if they can they could be potent but how long will it take. If the way they played last year is continued this team will not be very good!!! Everytime Cheechareto doesn't get the ball or misses a kick on goal he looks like a disgruntal child whose about to throw a tantrum – that needs to stop!!!! They need 2 find balance in the worst ways!!! If they do this there offense could be very enjoying to watch!!!
And I continue to find it abysmal that it's an away game for an MLS team when playing at home. Hey, all you a-holes! You came to the US because things weren't going well in your home country. You came for opportunity. You got it. You succeeded. You could afford tickets to a CCL game. Root for the nation that made that possible!
Lets Go MLS
I can personally confirm that it was cold at Gillette Stadium
An MLS team is going to win, if not this year within the next few years, and there may be a point were they are fielding and winning more games than LigaMX franchises. And of course in the next decade who knows what will happen with the USL and the CSL as their teams go from highschool stadiums to proffissional ones. but remember that economics and sports are tied very closely. Mexico is considered a developing nation and soon to be a developed nations and it will take 25-30 years after being classiffied as a developed nation were Mexicans as a whole are living at the standereds as the all the other developed nations. So LigaMX will get a lot bigger and better in the fiurute and Canadian and U.S. teams starting to win will not likely be a new trend/norm as all the leagues improves and an amazing tug-of-war will unfold were every year winners will come from all leagues.
Go Revs!
for that title alone i wouldn't be surprised if you guys jinx it
