Why did Arenas start Guzan instead of Howard? Guzan was the worst goalie in the premiership. He sucks. Also what coach pulls the starting goalie. Hockey Goalies or goalies for any sport are and need ro be a constant presence and consitency is important for the position. Arenas sucks as a coach as much as Guzan does at goal.
Everyone saying bring back Tim Howard, if USA brings him back, Mexico will bring back Gio and you'll never see Tim again.
I'm American and I like Carlos Vela, hugely because he used to play for Arsenal. Looking back, I think he really could've done great things for Arsenal, such as lead them to the glory they've desired for so long.

The skill level was so apparent. the only way the u.s. could win was by fielding 10 defenders.
Here's the view point of a neutral viewer; based on how the game went, I'm convinced Mexico would have won if the had the regular amount of scheduled days as planned, BUT, the US likely also would have had Howard and Dempsey starting as well (they're old so they can't quite have short rests like this and be fine), so who really knows.

I'm gonna be honest here. First off I'm Mexican. What I have to say for this match was awful (in Mexico's part). First off I want to make a shout out to Memo Ochoa for a wonderful goal he let in well more like watched it go in (he dove anyways because he knew he was beat). As if the match against Chile last year is good enough to "Not" start him. But still Osorio like a F**KING idiot throws him in there. Why is Ochoa still playing?
Okay on with the rant! Chicharito a great player, more likely one of the best. He was shut down and he made a weak pass which Bradley stole and made a "GOLAZO". The US already knew Chicharito is a threat so they shut him down. Lozano, he was terrible! He was no threat to the US at all. All he did was flop when he can't win 50-50 balls, because he is too slow. Herrera, besides the freekick that hit the post. He is always himself every match. When he has the ball the does something stupid and make a dumb mistake, which is very "common". I don't get what is so great about him? Oh but he play in Europe. That is not a good enough reason to be wearing the National Team Shirt. What was the tactic of substituting Alanis for Gallardo? What was Gallardo purpose? Hmmmmmmm I saw nothing from him….? What was Gallardo's role? Jon Dos Santos….. was ehhhh. He will always be in Giovanni's shadow. Not much to say about him. Diego Reyes…. I just hate him. He is an america player and a Porto reject. Salcedo I know you play for my beloved Chivas…. you were just awful. Marco Fabian I can't say much really…. 🙁 Moreno… You played good just wish Alanis wasn't taken out. Vela you played good just wish you had more help in the attack. Orbelin Pineda should have been in the starting line up, same goes to Jimenez, Damm, Giovanni Dos Santos, and Talavera or Cota in the goal.
Haven't beaten the US since 2009. Why was everyone so cocky that Mexico will win today? They failed again…. the US is no longer affected by the altitude and hostile atmosphere in the Azteca. It pains me to say this, ahem that some of the players will be part of the starting 11 against Cristiano Ronaldo and friends (Portugal). I'm feeling that Mexico will be embarrassed against Portugal.
