  1. So Kane’s at 89 and Keegan’s at 90…seems safe to say that Harry will be Top 5 by season’s end with matches still to go (even if he may rest a bit more as they begin focusing on the Champions League more).

  2. Along with Garry Birtles, Tony Woodcock is one of the two forwards that (with service from John Robertson) dragged Cloughie’s “all out defence, beat ‘em on the break” Forest team to their first European Cup success (possibly their second as well).

They would regularly be castigated by “Ol’ Big ‘ead” for missing chances that they (more-often than not) grafted like savages to create, with little-to-no help from anyone (other than Robertson or perhaps a long ball up the pitch by one of the other seven outfield players, who don’t deserve a mention) with encouragement along the lines of: “You want bloody shooting for missing a chance like that.”

Nobody remembers either of them – besides a bit of punditry now and then from Birtles – because Trevor Francis (playing on the right wing) scored the winning goal in the 1979 final.

Watch any highlights package from their European exploits, you are likely to see the pair of them driving Forrest up the pitch while three of the midfield four venture no further than the halfway line.

Forever a Revie guy (on the football side of history on this one) and BWFC fan who thinks thst that fraud – Clough – is the most overrated of football managers.

  3. Owen Hargreaves was hardly English, he was Canadian/German with one english grandparent. We were lucky he chose to represent England, without the injuries he was set to be a beast

  4. As a New Zealander this is so funny to me. A different Tony Woodcock was a pretty famous rugby player, winning two World cups and making over 100 games for the All Blacks 😂

  5. Hargreaves, Kane, Bellingham, Keegan… and I dunno the fifth. I nearly said Mark Hughes, let’s just go with Jobe Bellingham because I know he plays for Dortmund.

Now unpause to see how I did. 3/5, pretty average.
