  1. all those "journalist" looking for some controversy OMG here in Argentina are the same they´re think bigger than players often times

  2. That’s a good point. I’m not that comfortable w giving Messi the ultimatum of playing on turf at his age or disappointing an 80,000 stadium. Still excited, but this should be a wake up call to force the league to switch to natural surfaces. Esp when bruce pointed out that the only teams in the east that have it are in North Carolina and Georgia, states literally known for being able to grow nice grass. Like they don’t even get the weak ass climate excuse Vancouver tries to get off

  3. Bless Bruce Arena, who is good for soccer in the USA. I watch the highlights but don't follow many MLS matches since I don't have a TV or pay for subscriptions at this time. I occasionally follow some Youtube soccer channels like Becoming Elite.

  4. This guy gets it.
Does it sucks for the other teams.
    Yes. Of course.

But, Messi brings so much to the league.
Tickets in Chicago went from $20-$60
    To $300 -$10,000 for a Messi match.
And the league went from 1 million followers on Instagram to 8 million.
That's good for sponsors who only care about more eyeballs on their products.

  5. I have no idea who this guy is. He is amazing … reasonable. Logical. Tells it how it is. Doesn’t let journalists speak for him. I hope to see more of him as I start watching Messi in MLS games. Awesome ambassador for US soccer. Kudos 💪🏽💪🏽

  6. Messi will not exist on FIFA Matchday ARG vs INDONESIA..(?)
"Very unfortunate" he will lose a lot of fans, likewise Inter-Miami will lose the potential additional supporters (approx.20 mil).
    LET SEE THE STATISTIC BELOW;
    —————————————————
    -Indonesia Population =270mil
    -IDN Football Fans =73% (197mil)
    -Messi Fans 40% x197mil =79mil
    -Active Fans =25% x79mil =20mil
..(Active Fans will watch his perfom on TV, LiveStream, Youtube, etc).

This number does not include M'sians, S'poreans, Bruneians & Timor Leste who may disappointed as well, because they are not respected as his fans in that region.

  7. The salary-cap still is nowhere high enough for MLS to be considered a serious League. The owners are going to need to open up the purse books and have the salary lifted for this to be a competitive league globally.

  8. I'm happy with Messi joining the MLS, he is not only a great player, strategist with his game and great leader. He will add value to the sport in the USA and create more opportunities for other players. The era is about to start..

  9. I don't like the image of the MLS again confirming it's a retirement league, but I did love Arena's responses to the questioner. Wonderful. Miami broke the rules and was punished. They're not breaking any rules now. As much as I root for Beckham and Miami to lose, this is a a marketing move that I hope goes well for them. Arena handled it perfectly.
