My mum arranged with an old man we met bowling to pick me up and coach me bowling as i expressed interest at the tjme. I was around 9 or 10.
During the car ride with this senior i somehow felt incredibly uncomfortable. Everything was fine, he dropped me back home but i told my mum i dont like bowling. I couldnt articulate what i felt so the easiest was to say im not interested in going back.
So so easy for parents to let their guard down

Well, actually Nancy , he was well regarded as a Hollywood soccer coach- so who ever is running the league should have been vigilant on it. The guy is your typical pedophile , illegal or legal citizen.. Disgusting & sad. Of course Nancy Grace this is why departments shouldn't be underfunded & understaffed so such cases back up & arrests back up in a back log due to fewer funds for it. He probably gives the kids roofie (date rape drug) then just alcohol like with the 16yr. old it sounds like.

No sleepovers ANYWHERE ans always take your child to and from. I never even left my son go to soccer practice without staying. Call me paranoid but I trust no one, even more so around kids.

Parents are to blame. My mom is also an immigrant but if she found out that at 13 I was taking a train two hours away to go help some random man, best believe my mom would have blown up my phone and taken the train herself to wherever I was and got me.
When I was in high school we had 3 teachers dating the students. It was a very small school, 150 students in the entire school. The male teacher was intimate with several different female students and married the last one when she graduated. We had 2 female teachers dating boys. One slept with several students and a male student ended up moving in with her at 17yrs old in the “TRAILER PARK”. That teacher didn’t come back because she lost her teaching degree for not paying student loans. The second female teacher was dating 1 male student while she was recently engaged to her fiancé. Idk what happened because I graduated in 2006. Now this was small town where everyone knows everyone. There was 4-5 towns/villages attending the H.S. & no one ever did anything. All teachers/ principal/superintendent/custodians/ & students knew what was going on.
My niece was attending a private Catholic school. There was this 1 male teacher that all the students loved. Well come to find out he worked 10-15yrs somewhere else prior & was allowed to resign for rumors of grooming young boys. He was about 5-7yrs in at the H.S. my niece was attending. Rumors were occurring again, it was a hushed incident. None of the students knew other than the new male victims. He was also a coach for baseball, basketball, golf, & track n’ field. He was allowed to finish up the semester. He gave the kids some type of sob story & had the kids passing around a petition for him to be allowed to keep his job. A month after he was fired he was still reaching out to the victims and searching for new ones through social media. He was meeting a victim at McDonalds. Well the father, uncle,& big brother showed up with cameras. He tried to take of running but couldn’t out run them. This fool even wore a different color shirt and shorts under his clothes. So as he was running he was trying to take them off so his description would be different. The police showed up and he was finally arrested. He wasn’t going to be arrested for what happened at the school and this family wanted justice. So they finally got him arrested and all the past history came out from the last 20yrs that was swept under the rug. My niece was so devastated. The 1st thing she said was he played us for fools over him having all his students start a petition, getting it signed by basically the whole school and their parents. Now she graduated 3yrs ago, so this is recent. The worst part is he wasn’t going to be prosecuted until he was luring a past victim to McDonald’s.

Thank you, Nancy for covering Omar's case. Let's remember that this coach lives where law enforcement has "dropped the ball" on various cases involving children. Gabriel Fernandez, Noah Cuatro, the Avalos child, and several others. Antelope Valley is where kid safery isn't a priority. There needs to be an investigation into the system that's supposed to protect kids, because they're being tortured and murdered.

Note that from what I know, coaches of teams that play at Whittsett do not go through a background check. I know this because my husband at times helps a coach at this park and the only requirement was to go to a local office, sign paperwork, and get a picture taken. Very irresponsible! This isn’t the case for club soccer, it’s just this park
