To be clear – Boehly was the one who wanted to continue down Roman’s path, signing more experienced players and staying competitive, meanwhile Clearlake, run by Egbahli, wanted to invest in these young players because they see the whole thing as a business project and want to develop these young players and sell them down the line for profit. Boehly was just acting as chairman the whole time, meaning he faced most of the blame. But Boehly is the one who knows the sporting world inside out. He knows the Chelsea fans want results and want to win every year. He owns the LA Dodgers, where the fans are also expecting to be competitive every year.
