  1. To get to the position they are in now it’s not surprising they chose work over family. I for one would not, but I’m also not a champions league footballer with those sort of obligations 😅

  2. Nah it’s just stupid to leave your pregnant wife and play football. It’s the most important moment of your life and you rather play football in Basel. Poor decision making there.

  3. Shame he was at the conception, I hear his Mrs shout.
The birth of your children is not something you turn you back on. As for spitty, it’s not like he’d have been missed on the pitch.

  4. Warriors. Nothing gets in the way.
Honestly, what will you be doing there? This is virtue signalling of the modern man. Let's say you are an astronaut, and you got an opportunity to replace another colleague who fell sick and couldn't make it; would you leave your wife who could deliver in a month's time if had to be in quarantine for a journey to the moon?

  5. As a father of two children and great admiration for Henry he got it wrong on this one in my humble opinion. Your child being born is not only important for the child but for the woman. Imagine she passed away and you out there playing football.

  6. There’s at least 48 games you’ll get to play in a season (38 games in the league, at least 1 game in the FA cup and another in the Carabao and now 8 in the UCL/UEL/UECL). Surely you miss one of them for the birth of your child?

  7. Play some game that nobody will remember in a seasons time. Or be at something completely life changing like the birth of your son. Shouldn’t surprise me the decision someone like carragher would make.

  8. Nothing is more important than the birth of your child . It may be work as Thierry puts it , but men who work in normal jobs take time off to go to the birth of their child . At the end of the day football is just a game.

  9. Idk but there are many parents that can’t be present at their child’s birth due to work. Many people don’t have the luxury to skip work for something like this, if you can good for you but its not guaranteed
