Coach Rory, I’m starting to get “the obstacle is the way”, thank you for that insight. It applies everywhere.
Awesome I will be adding this to my next sessions
Hi Coach Rory – love this concept and can’t wait to use it! When you say you do minimal technical training, how do you coach dribbling and ball control skills? I typically do “technhcal” dribbling skills first in practice before moving on to group dynamic exercises focused on passing and shooting. Admittedly my U10 kids are less engaged during the first part 😊
What is the technical homework you give your players you mentioned in previous videos.
good set up for working on individual skills for a team. I don't like the bottom of the foot pull backs while dribbling though, I'd much prefer to see an outside foot 180. better habit to develop.
Great drill, I ran this today with our U10 girls, they got it really quickly.
What dimensions are your outside and inside boxes for the indoor session?
When should we start incorporating fitness tests? At what age? And what do you recommend?
I love this drill. Thanks mate 👏
Will have this one on repeat for a bit. Thanks for sharing this one!
How do you add passing into it
Great videos Coach. Do you offer consultations for beginner coaches? Thanks!
Hey Coach! Another fantastic video. Do you typically go through all categories (technical, faints, and 1v1) each session? Or do you mix it up? I'd assume you spend between 20-30 minutes on this?
I finally did this. It takes some time initially for the kids to get it, similar to the first time BOOTB. After all, it is just a pattern. The kids pretty quickly were able to self-organize. I thought it was good!
What is a V turn?
So the mannequins are just there for them do all the same skills while avoiding a defender? In other words, you could do all the skills once, and then include mannequins and do them all over again?
Again, another great video. I will be using this idea for my next training session.
This has so much adaptability to it.
May stick a goal outside of one end and have them shoot when they get there.
I agree, this looks dope. I will try with my U9 girls. About how long per each move/foot? And how long all together to keep girls interests up? Cheers, good stuff
Just got home from trying this with our U10 girls and wow! Really love the simplicity AND flexibility of this tool. The girl’s picked it up right away. So versatile…I can tell we will be using this to develop their skills for quite some time. Thanks so much for the great content!
This is a great setup. Already looking at how to do some passing patterns within it as well.
Thank you
Thanks!
I have u7 spring team going on. With the Belgian box, would you max out at the first set of technical dribbling? 50% of my team has never played soccer, 25% is one season in. 5v5
Coach, thank you again for coaching the coaches.
Looks very good. Iam going to do this training tomorrow with my team. (U10)
this is dope. Great video again Rory
This is yet another great video. They are helping me immensely!
What are the min-max numbers you would do this with? I have 15 kids, wondering if I would do one or two boxes?
BINGO!
