  1. The Stanley Cup Final got 7 million views in america, the 2015 Womens World Cup got 24 million in america, 750 million views world wide.

NHL players are signing Hundred Million dollar contracts

The USWNT flys coach to the world cup.

    ….

    Just let that sink in.

  2. USA was the number two best team in the entire world, being overthrown by Germany, but after such a wonderful performance, they are back resting in their appropriate position in number one best women's soccer team.

  3. I'm tired of hearing comparisons between men and women's soccer. What we are celebrating here is an achievement of a team who worked for years at something that boiled down to a 90 minute game. I will always respect anyone who has the mental strength to tough this out. Men or women.

  4. Baseball and American football need to die before the US MEN's SOCCER  team get ranked in soccer.

American football, due to brain injuries and cheating scandals may actually see a decline.

Baseball is anybody's guess. It isn't THEE American sport like it once was.  More international players are saturating that market.  Other than the playoffs, the sport is uninteresting to watch for the casual sports fan.

Soccer has the potential to grow in the US, but I believe the US may have to tweak the rules a bit to allow for more scoring.  Of course, traditional soccer will be reserved for international play.

  5. "they can't"…"they shouldn't"…"they won't"… "they don't have heart"… "Americans are loud"…USA's been hearing this chatter for the whole 239 years of our existence.   But you know what??  We CAN, We SHOULD, We DID, WE HAVE HEART.  And heck yes WE ARE LOUD!!!!   We can be your best friend or your worst enemy (if you prefer).   Don't wake the sleeping giant, baby!  WE ARE ONE!  WON …ONE … WON …ONE!!!!!!

  6. coach ellis kept abby wambach on the bench a little too much to suit me.  Abby says this is her last World Cup.  Is retirement near?

Retirement comes for everyone, but it tugs at my heart strings to think Abby might retire.

Abby would make a great WNT coach.
