Barcelona’s iconic Camp Nou homecoming has been delayed once again after permit issues. The club hoped to have the refurbishments ready in time for their La Liga match against Valencia, but have had to relocate the match to the 6,000 capacity Estadi Johan Cruyff. Laporta is the Elon Musk of presidents. Over promise, under deliver. Throw out timelines and expect your teams to meet them and everything ends up years late.
What’s even crazier is the fact that even without main home stadium, they won the Copa Del Rey , Super Copa, and La Liga still. Almost making it to champions league finals.
I won't hold the Camp Nou delays against Laporta, construction is always a mess to make deadlines and reforms are the trickiest. It doesn't help that the approvals have to come from La Liga and the city of Barcelona, both want to make an example out of the club.
