  1. Australia's penalty shootout win over Peru for a 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament place reminded me of the Socceroos outlasting Uruguay for a spot in 2006 in Sydney.

  2. still watching this even after the world cup is over, still breaks me heart and makes me tear up knowing my country was so close to experiencing one of the greatest world cups in history.

  3. Australia: goes to the World Cup for a 6th time in a row
Peru: qualifies for 2018 World Cup after 36 years but looses to Australia in 2022

My granddad who died in April, 2 months before this match said, “sometimes it rains hardest on the people who deserved the most sunshine”, but anyways good luck to Australia and all countries at the World Cup. 🇵🇪👍

  4. Tbh, it was kind of luck. Peru was mad cautious, and australia was playing a little defensively in my perspective. Hence why it took so long to point where it was penalties. Had advincula made that penalty which he was so close to doing so, peru could've gotten to the world cup. I liked redmayne's tactics with him dancing and throwing the kicker off, but I dont see that working in the world cup. At best, australia will probably get 3rd in their group stage. Still, congrats to Australia 🇦🇺

  5. Goalkeeper came off his line before Advincula touched the ball. VAR should've seen that and retaken the penalty!! NOW WE WILL NEVER KNOW WHO WON THAT GAME!!! THANKS TO FIFA AND VAR SYSTEM!!!

  6. Peru the team that already believed themselves in Qatar. Hahaha. Greetings from Ecuador Australia. See each other soon…in…Qatar?…Peru… you can always disappoint me even when I don't have any real expectations on you. 😛

  7. NORTH AMERICA 🇺🇲🇲🇽🇨🇦 SUPPORT OUR FRIENDS FROM AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺. HAPPY TO SEE THEM IN QATAR 🇶🇦 2022 AND SEE YA' IN NORTH AMERICA 2026 🇺🇲🇲🇽🇨🇦👍

  8. I've NEVER been a fan of PKs to undue ties. . Extra times should be given until someone wins. On the same day! Inevitably one of the teams will tire out enough to concede a goal.
