The squad was the oldest squad in la Liga and was the squad that had 30+ age players play the most minutes inside the top 5 leagues. It's disingenuous to fully put the blame on him as the backline was dogshit, but he also 100% plays a part in this

People are quite unfair when it comes to Atletico Madrid. The squad was mediocre at best in the 23/24 season and even in the 24/25 season. Galan and Lenglet in the backline? What big side competing for trophies uses players like that in the XI. What I do agree with is that if Simeone doesn't achieve success this season, he has every right to be scrutinized after spending nearly 300m in the last 2 seasons.
The squad is getting to the level that could rival some of the biggest clubs itw. Especially if Atletico are able to sign Lookman, CM and CB they'll have every position covered 2x. Huge test for Simeone this upcoming season

In the last season UCL 1/16 match between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, Diego simeone's team needed to score just 2 goals in the 2nd leg game an progress to the quarter finals. Luckily, Atletico Madrid scored 1 goal in the first minute and needing only one additional goal to win the tie yet his team went into defensive mode and were eventually knocked out. Atletico Madrid always struggle to win even easy games and that affects them going into the last stretch of the season. They only win winnable games in the last 10 minutes of matches. The guy is simply disappointing!!

If they sign a cb this offseason then yes they can. The board has addressed issues that needed to be fixed and rejuvenated the squad. Age was a problem last season and it showed.
