I am so glad justice prevailed in the final. The civilized and class of Spanish football won! We are indebted to Spain for saving football and punching corruption in the face with finesse! The best solution to put those rascist Argentinian felons in their place is to release them from any Euro league contracts so they could suffer in their own dying economy in Argentina. That will definitely slap the smugness and rascist attitude off their faces. Poor sportsmanship should not be reinforced with good football contracts!

I’ve never watched a single World Cup, never been a fan of football, and even I was disgusted watching Argentina in this game. I have zero respect for them.
Not to mention they had the easiest path to the finals. They need to change the path so that even if better teams get defeated early on they can still have a stab at weak teams like Argentina to ensure they don’t get anywhere

In the UK, you might not catch much of Argentine social media due to the Spanish algorithm, but in Mexico, we see the full picture. It’s not just the players; it’s the fans and a large part of their crowd being arrogant, hostile, and toxic. Now they’re spreading conspiracy theories, claiming the match was rigged because they can't handle losing and lack any self-criticism. They constantly claim Mexicans are envious. Envious of what? Brazil has 5 trophies and we genuinely love them and root for them! Argentines, on the other hand, show such entitlement that they’ll resort to anything to win, regardless of who they cross. I’m just glad the rest of the world is finally witnessing what we’ve been dealing with all along

Argentina arrived as reigning world champions and departed as a particularly miserable boxing club with silver medals.
For most of the final, their tactical plan appeared to be preventing any football from taking place. Once Spain scored and that master plan collapsed, they finally showed some attacking intent — after the final whistle, naturally.
They offered very little with the ball, collected a red card and lost the match, but became remarkably lively when there was no football left to play. Better late than never, one supposes.
Spain left with the trophy. Argentina left with a collection of cards, wounded pride and what is likely to be some rather unpleasant correspondence from FIFA.
They came to defend their crown and ended up defending nothing but their lack of dignity. Provoking opponents in victory and throwing punches in defeat is not the behaviour of champions. It is the behaviour of spoiled losers who cannot cope when the script stops favouring them.

I really felt for Messi when he cried as Spain were handed the trophy. He showed grace and dignity, unlike his childish teammates. That's the right way to deal with defeat, not taking it out on the winners!

This is nothing new, the Argentinian soccer mentality has always been obnoxious and unsportsmanlike. Longtime soccer fans are well aware of that fact and finally there was a much larger, worldwide spotlight focused on them so everyone could see it. Honestly I thought this team would be different, that they had left behind the nastiness and unsportsmanlike behavior so it was disappointing to see that in fact they did not evolve, but were the same old ball busters they've always been. Sad and pathetic.
