Everyone talks about Messi's age but nobody talks about how Argentina's midfield is arguably BETTER than 2022. Enzo Fernández has evolved into a complete midfielder at Chelsea, Mac Allister is running Liverpool's engine, and De Paul never stops running. The real question isn't whether Messi can do it – it's whether Scaloni can manage his minutes smartly through the group stage. If Messi arrives fresh at the quarterfinals, Argentina is beating anyone.

Winning a world cup is just very difficult….Argentina won last time and for as great as team they were there was some bounces that had to go their way. Just from a statistical standpoint, the odds are naturally against a team from winning back to back.
