Jamie doesn't even pronounce his own surname correctly. It's an Irish name and the G is silent, "carra-her". The English mispronounce a lot of Irish names, Gallagher is another example.
I used to speak like that, then I went to the school his daughters went to. But coming to London and having people walk away from you when you asked them when the next bus was due and others asking if you’d stolen any hubcaps recently was the end of the accent.
