The first team players had words of praise for the Barça number 8, those who came up through the ranks as well as those who joined from other clubs. “He is an example for all sportspeople at La Masia. He is a mirror I have used to learn a lot,” says Sergi Roberto.

  1. Seguro top 5 en la historia del Barcelona, por no decir top 3 que magia la de Andrés, hizo grande el dorsal 8, le dio a España su mayor alegría y jamas perdió su humildad, genio que todo el que ame el fútbol debe conocer.

  2. I can admit that when he was sitting on the bench at 23 or whatever it was. I remember hoping inter would sign him. It didnt look like he was ever going to get the time he deserved. I guess it came, but i have to say im not a fan of that era of football. It was too much. You broke the game. Exposed a weakness in the rules of the game. Thats about the nicest way i can say it. glhf

  3. Iniesta criminally underrated. One of the best players of all times. Up there with the likes of Messi, Maradona, El Fenomeno, Zidane, Ronaldo, Xavi and Hanry.

  4. Understated, totally underrated IMO he completely escapes cliche as a player. Iniesta played at his own pace and could change a game in the most remarkable moments; drop of a shoulder, a touch of the outside of his boot, a twist, a turn – he danced as much as played. That Barca team was really something, cannot go more than a player to be amongst another Hall of Fame talent… But he was certifiably, in his own right, a football genius. A Euro winner. A World Cup winner. Maybe next to Messi as the best technical footballer of his generation. And as much as I loved watching him, he is impossible to copy but gave you a sense that you could, maybe like him, go into Iniesta-mode and slow the game and just freestyle in that way. Complete one-of-a-kind player.
