I was 26 at the time and saw that game on ABC. Shortly after the game was over, my mother predicted, "They're going to shoot this guy (Escobar)." Sadly, she was right. 🙁

that kind of OG stuff still happens – albeit far less frequently – on the streets of medellin today. just a few months ago there was a straight-up hit in the middle of a bridge in evening rush hour. two guys on a motorcycle. four shots fired through the driver's window. in and out like ninjas.
i hope colombia wins this year's copa.
