  1. I didn't watch football when I was a kid, maybe the national team every now and then (Chile). But I wasn't really into it, my father wasn't into sports and that did influenced me at that young age.
When I was in high school my parents sent me to a boarding school, there they would let us watch football regularly on Sundays, and during the week only for major tournaments. When you are in boarding school you get bored really fast, so I started playing and watching a lot of football.
One day I got to the glorified living room of the dorm and my mates where about to watch this "champions league final", I didn't even knew what the Champions League was, they had to explain to me that it was about the biggest European clubs competing for becoming the best of the continent. The teams in that final where, my mate's favourite AC Milan, and the underdog Liverpool, the year was 2005.
They asked me if I was going to support one of the teams and in the blink of an eye I chose Liverpool. It had nothing to do with football, I was into The Beatles… That was it… Years later I would find out that the connection between the Fab Four and Liverpool FC was rather thin, but it didn't matter, that was all I needed, and not gonna lie, the fact that all of the guys were supporting Milan made me more invested in the Reds.
We all know what happened during the first half, it didn't went well… At half-time all of my mates were mocking me, and also offering me to jump ship. I didn't, maybe because of pure stubbornness, maybe because I "felt" something.
We all know what happened next…
After something like happens to you, you gotta go for that team… For life.

  3. Malaysian Red here. Been following Liverpool since the days of Michael Owen all through the toughest times of Poulsen and Konchesky, to finally see us win all trophies from 2019 onwards. I can never explain why I support Liverpool because it’s difficult, you jsut fall in love the the values and togetherness of the team and fans.

  4. I cried watching my club and the supporters sing You'll Never Walk Alone, this poem is a testament to the feeling of supporting LFC. YNWA

  5. SEAsian Red here. Been waking up at 2-4am to watch Liverpool games ever since I was 10 (pushing 30 now). Imagine trying not to be tired at school the next day. But the happiness of watching my team score, win, making comebacks, and lifting trophies, I will never ever get tired of that.

  6. Amazing poem! Makes you feel 10ft tall. I grew up about 60 miles away from Liverpool but was lucky enough to have a Grandad who was a scouser born and bred. He was kind, loyal, funny and a die hard red. I’ve never called Liverpool home but anytime I’m there it certainly feels like it is. Champions again, come on you Reds! Y.N.W.A
