The worst thing about American soccer is Alexi Lalas.
Typical US game. Plays with a whole lot of energy for the first 60 minutes then just goes flat. Needed more subs to keep the energy high man. But Freese was a beast.

I say freese is our starting keeper as of Sunday. He's been playing consistently. He proves he can play under pressure. 3 saves on penalties and not only that , he correctly guessed the majority of the kicks. Seems to me like he's a solid starter. What use is turner to us if he cant perform at the level we need him?
Tilman clearly makes things happen. Luna is aggressively creative and can be scary (both ways). It will be interesting to see where the coach takes all this. I'm getting more and more behind this manager.

Coach Pooch almost lost the game. He needs to learn his men and sub out/in earlier. They need a real striker SOON. That guy Abbayangi (sp) lacks skill and can't shoot quickly.

I think that Diego Luna reminds me of a plucky featherweight boxer who was never given a shot but suddenly built their way to a championship fight. He's that underdog who has that dog in him. Plus, Matt Freese was just cold as ice during the PK shootout last night. I think he earned the No. 1 ahead of Turner, unless Turner is able to get consistent starts at Palace this coming season.

This is low IQ thinking, particular for cup soccer. Quality of shots matters way more than shots on goal. Quality of possession as well. I know in general media is bad about talking anything on a high level but this is elementary.

3 saves, got his hand on 5 out of 6. Was only beaten cleanly by the very first shot. Incredible performance from Freese. Proud of mostly our B squad pulling this win off.
I can’t wait for the next “A roster” to come out and see people freak out at some of these gold cup MLS players getting called up. Like Agyemang is probably getting called up as the 3rd string striker and people are going to be complain that Sargent isn’t on the roster 😂😂😂
