The USMNT is going through a learning process. The way for the US to up their game is to play Uruguay, Brazil, or Argentina. There's a good chance the USMNT won't win against these more experienced teams, but the experience and the exposure is priceless.

I don’t think a less than average defender that performed very poorly during 1994 World Cup, has any moral/technical expertise to criticize the current national team.
Can’t stand Lalas but he’s not wrong. Time for another European coach. The team has the talent and ability they need. But if US Soccer continues to choose coaches who were former players, mediocre players at best when they played, then US Soccer will continue to fail.

Landon Donovan was the best American player and the 2002 team USA will never be topped until you have a great player like Landon Donovan who believes in USA soccer and doesn't need to play in Europe to believe he can compete. Jeurgan Klinsman was the lamest example of a head coach. He placed nothing but doubt in the minds of all players and fans because he didn't believe in the USA.

He is normally an idiot but he is right. This idea can be applied to the national team for the last 30 years. They suck every year, every major tournament, and lose matches to tiny countries when things matter the most. Don’t be fooled, the USA will never truly compete in football and the last 30 years of what was suppose to be growth with the mls etc has shown.
