Sadly……This turned out to be Magull's last game for Bayern.
I felt something off with her late last year. She didn't seem excited like she had been in the season prior. Bringing in a much needed Stanway into the heart of the midfield fold brought arguably the best box to box midfielders in today's game. Bayern then added another midfielder with Kerr, and other top players. I think Magull saw herself out of a starting position with the new direction the team is going. Let's be honest, Stanway is the star midfielder. Providing she stays healthy, she'll be starting and playing complete full games till the cows come home. I'm sure the amount of her contract reflects in all those minutes on the field. I noticed Magull also seemed to be pulling back from the other players, and when she dropped the captain's title after 3 years i knew something serious was changing. From then on, she started playing from the bench mostly. I didn't see any hostility towards her, the coach or rest of the players….But we know she asked to be released and Bayern didn't appear to put up a huge fight (or did they…We may never know the real reason) but one thing I know. I will miss watching her along with the other Bayern fans. Mia San Mia
