Lost Kross, plus half the back line out with injuries, didn't get any reinforcements so far, they needed a replacement ready for Carvajal years ago, Ancelloti is doing more than most would in his place, changing him would only be harmfull at this point. They were clunky up front in the beginning of the season but now they are figuring it out, now they need to sort out their defense.
I think Ancelotti has been made the scapegoat. Look at the defence except Rudiger and Asencio everybody has been bad. Especially the full backs are at fault.
Another thing is that now they want to turn it around and interpret it in the way that interests them.
