Each of Germany’s 4 strikers got his name on the score sheet, in a 4-0 walloping of Australia, in their first match on June 13. On Friday, Germany will play Serbia who lost 1-0 to Ghana in their opening match of group D.  Serbia and Germany have only met once before, the match going 2-1 in favour of Germany; at half time, though, Serbia led 1-0.

The first major upset of the tournament has finally happened. Spain, the winners of Euro and a highly touted squad projected to be one of the World Cup’s favorites, lost to a weak Switzerland team.

One analyser yesterday said that he was giving his fee to charity because the game was so poor and unexciting and boring. Now, I have never heard that previously! The two broadcasters mentioned that the road report would be more exciting. Sport and soccer and football and people may all disappoint us at times. Jesus Christ will never disappoint nor let you down. It is not in his character or nature to do so.
