Alexander Altenhofen, Director of Product & Technology at the Bundesliga, discusses how Germany’s premier national soccer league is using AWS to enhance the match and fan experience. The Bundesliga is using AWS artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), analytics, compute, database, and storage services to deliver real-time statistics that improve insights into game strategy and outcomes, and recommend personalized match footage for fans across mobile, online, streaming, and television broadcasts.
At re:Invent 2022, AWS and the Bundesliga partnered to create the Bundesliga Free Kick Challenge Interactive Demo. The activation gave attendees a chance to shoot a free kick and see their shot’s speed, distance and shot trajectory in real-time – just like their favorite Bundesliga player.
