running, kicking, etc. Therefore it is very important to perform stretching
exercises before and after playing soccer.
Stretching exercises helps prevents injuries and it also gives the players much faster and more flexible soccer play. In this video, soccer coach Giancarlo Barraza teaches us
to do stretching exercise before and after a soccer game/match.
Here, you will learn, how to execute the two types of stretching.
1:06 Dynamic Stretching
Performed before a soccer game/match that helps players prepare their muscles for action and your whole body for movement. Dynamic stretches are called “moving” stretches because it quickly extends the range of motion for a short period of time.
Players can do at least 3-5 seconds per exercise, 3-5 seconds of butt kicks,
3-5 seconds of high knees, leg swings, etc.
2:01 Static Stretching
Stretching- performed after a soccer game. This kind of stretching is referred
to as a “traditional” or “still” stretching because here you will hold a
stretch for an extended period of time (10-30 seconds). This type of stretching
should be done after a soccer game to release tension and relax the muscles.
