2024 is better than 2004 inter
The reason why we are not first in Serie A is simple. Last year we got peak condition around October and it lasted more or less until the end of the year, but when we got to the decisive part of Champions League, even though we still played decently, condition wasn't there anymore and we lost against Atletico with our worst games of the entire season.
This time we started much slower. Inzaghi wants the Champions League. I'm ready to bet he set things up so that we could have our peak a few months later (which we did) so that we are in much better shape when CL heats up.
Last season we won 3/4-0 pretty much every game in 2023, and fell off a bit in 2024. This season we are starting now (December-January) to win 3/4-0 most of our games. For me that's a very good sign, and a clear indication of Simone's intentions.
Lautaro and Thuram play differently this season. That's why thuram is scoring a little more and Lautaro a little less.
Obvioulsy this is not the only cause. Lautaro is tired by the moltitude of mathces he has to play. He's fundamental for the team's play and Inzaghi cannot afford to keep him out to rest a couple of games as he should do.
I'm also not worried at all about Lautaro and his scoring. He is still contributing to the team big team. Some are just not watching games carefully and are only focussing on his poor goalscoring form at the moment.
I've been an Inter fan for 30 years, and yes the 2010 team is legendary. But if we are talking about the best team in regards to the brand and beauty of football, this team is hands down the best Inter team I have ever seen, and its not even close. It is an absolute joy to watch as a fan.

Inter Is playing an amazing football, no doubts… I'm 53 and obviously a I 've always been an Inter fan, and I've never whitnes a team more dominant than today's one
Inter 2010 was a team made out of world class players at the peak of their career, managaed by the best coach at the time. Against that Barca, who won the treble the previous and the following year, Inter displayed an incredible match on the first leg in Milan and won 3-1 (and could have been more). On the second leg Inter were down one man and obviously had to protect the advantage against a monstrous team.
This Inter is made out mostly of players signed with a free transfer or there about (Sommer, Dimarco, Acerbi, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Thuram, Darmian) and a few playes who were signed at a young age like Barella, Bastoni and Lautaro.
There is no comparison between the two teams..
The 3 reasons why Inter is so good nowdays are very simple:
1. Management Competence
2. Players hard work
3. MISTER SIMONE INZAGHI

You can't really compare this team with the treble one. Different team, different style of football, different level of experience etc. The 2010 team was a title-hungry team, it was a team with players basically at the end of their careers. That Inter was a now or never thing, where the skills lacked there was a strong winning mentality that led them to push through everything (look at the bracket against Dynamo Kiev for example). This team is way different, it's a team that is not scared of playing on open field because they have a system that allows them to let the ball to move faster between the lines and open way more spaces. Personally i'm not really worried about Lautaro. Yes maybe this year he's quite stuck in terms of goals but on the other side he's doing what Eto'o used to do. Eto'o was that striker that used a lot of effort in helping the midfield. Having a cpt. that does that it's a great boost for the team, plus Carnesecchi did basically everything to stop him.

Only dima, bare, hakan and basto would make it into 2010 squad. And if we pick hakan we cant pick dima and vice versa, bcause zanetti would either be lb or cdm.
Individually the 2010 team was clearly better. They had more players that were the best or among the 3 best players in the world in their position (Julio Cesar, Maicon, Samuel, Cambiasso, Sneijder, Eto'o, Milito)
