  1. MLS has a decades to go to establish any kind of major impact in the sporting landscape in this country. It all starts with building and nurturing home grown talent and not getting players from foreign countries.

  2. LOL at how MLS hates white males, which is ironic considering they pay the bills around there. LOL even more at how much they get conned on wasting time and money on diversity; hint: you don't need for success. Seriously. Don't believe the hype. The NHL and NBA do just great, and they are about as diverse Iceland and Zimbabwe.

  3. Soccer still has a ways to go in N. America. Too many unaffiliated leagues now another one added at least this one is affiliated. I can only assume it may because of difficulties integrating USL and CPL.

I will say in the last 25 years MLS has made headway and I hope it continues to grow into a top 5 league in the world.

As a Whitecaps fan, some of the things Garber says ring a little hollow. Whitecaps ownerships has a largely acrimonious relationship with us fans. Sexual abuse scandals, broken promises, strange personale moves (Mark Panne) with unbelievable reasons, lackluster investment in players ( always lowest or very near in the MLS payrolls), very little on field success (likely related to the previous mentioned things). This all makes it very difficult to be a fan of the team.

Vancouver has a huge soccer market, this ownership group seems to be doing it's best to discourage connection to that market. With new owners, and some better management I know that Vancouver could be one of your model markets. Our building is great and has capacity for much larger attendance. I hope MLS is aware of this and as the Whitecaps major owners I hope they work a little harder to improve the situation.

On the positive side: The integration with national teams is great. The quality of the officiating has gotten better. Looking forward to Saturday final and to the next chapter in the MLS.

  4. The MLS is exiting but have many problems. The first is that ridiculous cross border league with Canada. Why is it that two big countries like America and Canada have a cross border league. Just because those other leagues have a cross border league doesn’t mean we should have it.

  5. I like the MLS but they have a huge ugly spot and that's the playoff system. Form is everything in soccer, but the best team in the league has to sit on ice for 23 days before they get to get started in the playoffs. Finishing at the top of the table is a penalty not an advantage. Plus, the playoffs are so lost around thanksgiving, barely notice they're happening. For me, the playoffs are a complete failure and every year a feel the same way- who cares; the playoffs are not a real judge of who the best team is. This isn't the world cup where inferior teams get weeded out in the groups. And, it's not the NFL, where win or go home fits with only playing 17 regular season games. I think the MLS made a mistake trying to americanize the league. I'm not super excited about a straight table system either, but, for this one loyal fan, the present setup is anti-climatic and a sour end to the year.

  6. MLS and CFG, What’s going on with any plans 🗺 and the red tape for our Soccer ⚽️ specific real grass 🌾 Stadium 🏟 here in New York 🏙🗽?!

    Venues should be multipurpose.

  7. As fans, it is very difficult to watch on our 4K Flatscreen TVs 📺 our favorite teams games ⚽️ because they’re air on so many different Networks 📡, apps. Very frustrating, very confusing, and annoying!!! MLS Less is more!
