St Patrick’s Athletic are the 2021 Extra.ie FAI Cup Champions after a final that went all the way to penalties. St Patrick’s Athletic broke the deadlock in extra time thanks to a superb solo effort from Chris Forrester before Bohemians levelled through a bullet header from Rory Feely. Robbie Benson stepped up to take the decisive penalty in the shootout, claiming the historic trophy for the fourth time in St Patrick’s Athletic history, and first since 2014.

We'll do it all over again on Sunday
C'mon The Saints!!!!
Great match come on the saints!!!!!!!!!
I feel incredibly bad for Wardy that his last contribution in a bohs Jersey was missing a penalty in a cup final. Poor lad. Same for Tyreke. Felt incredibly sad that night as a Bohs fan for obvious reasons. Ah well, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger so hopefully this year is our year. I'm optimistic.
Unreal atmosphere in block 117. What a day, what an atmosphere, gutted about the result. Great showcase for the Irish game, just wish the FAI wouldn't fine clubs for fan pyro then use images of it all over their promotional material.
Is there VAR used in the FAI or plans to introduce it?
If not, I'm going to be a new fan of Irish football..just don't have a team yet ๐
Seriously, VAR is totally ruining football, it's so disgusting.. I'm so craving for good old VAR-free football..
What a game. Thanks for sharing this video, FAI TV.
Brilliant game brilliant showcase for the league of ireland.. And brilliant day to be a saint๐ดโช๐ดโช
disappointed to see bohs losing but really glad to see the rise of irish football.
much love all the way from brazil. ๐ง๐ท๐ฎ๐ช
Best atmosphere at the Aviva from my experience.
I guess with the pandemic, no going to football for almost 2 years & the final between 2 Dublin based clubs helped with attendance.
But saying this I think the fatalities of Aviva also helped bring more people out compares to what is on offer in most LOI grounds.
If only FAI or government could put the same money & effort as the GAA does with their intercounty grounds LOI would have great attendances.
Add the potential of a Irish Premiership & LOI merge Irish domestic could easily be up there with Scottish – Danish leagues.
I live in Dundalk but fair play to pats
Great day out, unreal atmosphere, record attendance and an exciting game. Great for the league! Shame a minority of Bohs fans had to attack women and children beforehand taking over the headlines.
Supersaints!
Started supporting Dundalk when Stephen Kenny was there as it was exciting to see them progress. Still watch Irish football and noticing the rise in standard. Irish people really should get behind it.. no idea why they don't.
Looks like a great atmosphere
Embarrassing low standard stuff โฆ on and off the pitch โฆ Irish lads pretending to be British lads โฆ
Impressive advertisement for Irish football. Quality of play was very good and presentation of game on TV was excellent.
Pity the fans were scummy after the match
Irish footy on the rise

Vamos equipo ๐๐๐๐
Great game and experience even to be on the loosing side. As an Irish footy fan it was a winner of a day. Really hope Derry do well in Europe because I donโt see Sligo doing well and hard to know with pats depends who stays who goes and who comes in. Rovers threw Europe away this year but youโd hope they try take advantage of the winners route next summer
