😂 WAIT FOR THE RAINBOW FLICK! At our recent Football Fun Factory session, we had a great chat about why you might not receive the ball, even if you’re shouting “pass, pass, pass!”
We explored a few reasons, and one big one stood out… You might be tightly marked by a defender!
I explained to the children that it’s possible to receive the ball when you’re being closely marked, however, we decided to work on a way to create space instead!
We walked through how to pull away from your marker and make clever movements to receive the ball.
I shared with the children how that extra bit of space can make all the difference and it might just give you the chance to take on your defender!
And yes… the demo worked (for once!). Although it definitely helps when Ada is only half the size of the defenders I’m usually up against!
