Bayern Munich put its 14 match UCL win streak on the line on Matchday 4 and it started out slow for the German side. Salzburg had some early opportunities to take the lead but it just could not capitalize and as the first half went on Bayern Munich made them pay. In the 43’ Robert Lewandowski continued his hot run and found the back of the net. From there Bayern was able to take a 1-0 lead into the break.
Then early on in the second half, Bayern was able to double its lead when Salzburg Center-Back, Maximilian Wöber, scored an own goal. After Marc Roca picked up a red card and was sent off the pitch in the 66’, Bayern managed to score a short handed goal in the 68’ when Leroy Sané powered the ball home to push Bayern out to a commanding 3-0 lead. Salzburg did get one back with a Besart Berisha goal in the 73’ to cut it to 3-1. Salzburg was unable to do anything else in the second half and the 3-1 scoreline would hold and Bayern picked up three points in Group A action.
